Hours of operation
The museum is currently closed for the winter, unless by appointment.
The Museum opens for the 2014 season on the long weekend of May 17th and 18th, and will be open daily, 7 days a week from 10 am – 5pm, until Mid October, 2014.
Adults: $5.00 +tx; Seniors/Students: $4.00 +tx; Children (4-11): $3.00 +tx; Children Under 4: free

Our latest installment of ‘Stories from the Railway’
Falling in Love with the Railway
The Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario is pleased to announce the next installment of ‘Stories from the Railway’. On Saturday, February 15th, from 1pm – 3 pm, experience the softer side of the railway and how it created lasting memories of love, community, and family ties.
Get swept up in the tales of romance on the rails, as guest speakers share stories of love and marriage.
Guest speakers, include:
Kay Leeson, Smiths Falls war bride.
Maureen Halpenny, daughter of local retired Engineer, Harold Halpenny
Donna Stewart, Ottawa-based storyteller

March Break at the Railway Museum
March 10 – 14, 2014
Once again, the Railway Museum is hosting a week full of fun and engaging activities for your child! This year, we’ve extended our programming to include 4 and 5 year olds too!
Junior Engineers program (ages 4 – 6) runs from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.
Senior Station Masters program (ages 7 – 11) runs from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Each day has a different theme with all new activities, games, crafts, and stories:
- Monday: Working on the Railroad
- Tuesday: Structures, Gears, & Signals, Oh My!
- Wednesday: Cabooses and Locomotives
- Thursday: The Story of Our Station
- Friday: Polar Express
Pre-register early. Spots are limited. $12 per program per child, or $55 per child for the week. Members receive a discount.
