Mark your calendars on Saturday, December 2nd and Sunday, December 3rd when Christmas rolls into the station!
Bring the whole family down and celebrate the North Pole Express at the Railway Museum. Get ready to hop aboard our very own Christmas cabooses for a ride along the snowy tracks. Be sure to visit Santa’s elves in their workshop to make a toy, send a Santagram to the North Pole and listen to holiday stories. All activities are included with admission unless otherwise noted.
North Pole Express festivities run from 11 am to 4 pm each day.
Tickets are $7/ person; children 2 & under are free.
The museum gift shop will be open for all your last-minute Christmas gifts. Stop by and pick up some unique items for your favourite train enthusiast.
What activities will be happening this weekend?
Train Rides from 11 am – 4 pm (Please note, train rides have sold out, but we have added more (discounted) tickets to take part in all the other activities)
Photos with Santa from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm – You can have a family photo taken by our photographer for $8 or you can take a pic of the kids with your phone for free! Be sure to register for your photos when you arrive!
Stories with Mrs. Claus – We are so thrilled that Mrs. Claus will be able to join us this year. Starting at 11:30 am she will be reading stories every hour on the hour until 3:30 pm. When she isn’t reading, you can find her visiting with all the boys the girls!
Santagrams – Our telegrapher has been warming up his fingers to send Santagrams to the North Pole.
Whistle making in the Elves’ workshop – Join Santa’s elves in the their workshop and craft your own wooden whistle!
Super-sized train table – Need a break or to warm up? We will be providing the youngsters with a super-sized train table to keep them busy… maybe while you do some Christmas shopping in the gift shop.
Christmas Cafe – This year we welcome Cafe Whim to our site to provide our visitors with tasty sandwiches, treats and warm drinks (additional charge for food)
Where can I buy tickets?
Do I have to pre-purchase tickets?
Yes, if you want to be guaranteed a train ride. There are a limited number of tickets available for this event. If you are unable to purchase your tickets online, please call the museum to purchase tickets (613) 283-5696. If you haven’t been able to purchase a train ride ticket, you are still welcome to come and participate in all the other activities. Admission is $5 per person (2 and under free).
How much are tickets and what does it include?
Tickets are $7 (plus $1.01 admin fee). Your ticket allows you access to all activities on site. Everything is included in your admission ticket. Admission tickets (with no train ride) are $5 per person (2 and under free)
I have a child 2 and under, where I can purchase tickets for them?
Children 2 years old and under do not need a paid ticket, but please be sure to get a free ticket when you purchase yours!
What if I miss my scheduled train ride?
We request that you check-in at the front desk at least half an hour before your scheduled ride to pick up your train tickets. If you miss your scheduled ride time, we will do our best to put you on the next available train ride, but we cannot guarantee you a ride.
Will the gift shop be open for Christmas shopping?
Of course! The gift shop will be open if you wish to purchase any train-themed gift for the enthusiast in your family. If there is anything in particular you are looking for, give us a call and we’ll see if we can get it in for you. (613) 283-5696.
